On January 31, in Hai Duong Province, U.S. Ambassador Marc Knapper and the high-ranking diplomatic delegation of the U.S. Embassy visited An Phat Holdings at the headquarters of An Phat Bioplastics JSC – a subsidiary of An Phat Holdings (APH) and the leading corporation in Southeast Asia in the field of manufacturing and exporting high quality monolayer film.

Attending the meeting, on the side of the U.S. Embassy, ​​there were Mr. Marc Knapper –U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam and the high-ranking delegation from the U.S. Embassy. On the side of An Phat Holdings, ​​there were CEO Pham Do Huy Cuong and other senior managers. 

At the meeting, CEO Pham Do Huy Cuong warmly welcomed the Ambassador and the delegation visiting APH on the occasion of Lunar New Year. He also gave a brief introduction about the scale of operation as well as the strength of APH in the manufacture of high-tech plastic products, biodegradable materials and products, supporting industries, and the real estate industry. CEO Pham Do Huy Cuong emphasized the investment projects of the Group in the United States. 

Highlighting the Group’s sustainable development mission, CEO Pham Do Huy Cuong said that, since 2015, An Phat Holdings has poured investment into R&D to develop a wide range of compostable products under the brand name of AnEco. These products are fully biodegradable and eco-friendly. Currently, AnEco products have undergone rigorous testing on biodegradability to meet world leading’s certification, including BPI certificate (U.S.A.). 

After more than 20 years of development, APH has built a broad ecosystem with a scale of more than 5,000 employees and 17 member companies spread across Vietnam and many countries around the world including the United States, Singapore, South Korea. Presently, An Phat Holdings is also a reliable partner of large domestic and foreign enterprises. An Phat Holdings long-term partners come from global countries, including the United States. “The United States is determined as our key market. The two-way trade turnover of APH and the U.S. market has increased steadily around 100 million USD in 2021 and 2022 despite the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic” CEO Pham Do Huy Cuong stated. 

At present, APH has trading companies in the U.S. to distribute traditional plastic resins as well as biodegradable resins and products. Remarkably, AnEco is among the top compostable sellers on Amazon e-commerce platform (U.S.A.). In addition, An Phat Holdings’ compostable materials were officially distributed throughout North America in 2022 also marks an important step in the Group’s 10-year business journey in the United States. CEO Pham Do Duy Cuong expected that APH’s business activities in the U.S. market will thrive in the upcoming period. 

Speaking at the meeting, U.S. Ambassador Marc Knapper highly appreciated APH’s business achievements, especially in the U.S market during the past time.

“The turnover of An Phat Holdings and the U.S. reached more than 100 million dollars. This is very significant. We highly appreciate the investment you made in the U.S. and your faith in our market. The opportunities to expand your investment in the U.S. is always welcomed.” Mr. Knapper affirmed. 

The U.S. Ambassador was also impressed with the AnEco compostable products. He also praised An Phat Holdings for becoming the trailblazer in Vietnam in developing and manufacturing “green” materials and products.

With the strategic AnEco products, An Phat Holdings will certainly make a great contribution to the “Net Zero Emission” goal by 2050, thereby contributing to reducing reliance on fossil fuels in Vietnam. Therefore, Mr. Knapper stated that the sustainable development strategies of An Phat Holdings is the right move, in line with the global sustainability trend. 

“We are very pleased to support Vietnam to reach Net Zero goal by 2050. I strongly believe that the business field that An Phat Holdings is pursuing will be an area of great potential. It is clearly going to be a key player and help Vietnam to reach the set goal.” Mr. Knapper declared. 

The U.S. Ambassador expected that APH’s business activities will flourish in 2023.  He also affirmed that the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam is willing to support An Phat Holdings to strengthen business activities in the U.S. and North American markets.

At the end of the working session, the senior delegation of the U.S. Embassy took part in the site tour at An Phat Bioplastics, took family photos and planted memorial tree.

On January 27 and 28, in the spring’s joyful ambiance, the B.O.D of An Phat Holdings visited, encouraged and sent New Year’s wishes to all employees of the Group and subsidiaries. The meeting was attended by the new CEO Pham Do Huy Cuong, Standing Deputy CEO Nguyen Thi Tien and Deputy CEO Nguyen Le Thang Long.

This is an annual activity of the B.O.D at the beginning of the year, with the aim of expressing attention and understanding to all employees, thereby showing the spirit of solidarity between the Group’s leaders and personnel.

At the meeting, on behalf of the B.O.D, CEO Pham Do Huy Cuong acknowledged and praised the efforts to overcome difficulties and the achieved results of the units in 2022, thereby making positive contributions to the Group’s success.

On November 2, the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam National Brand Program announced that AnEco compostable bags were awarded as “Vietnam National Brand”. This is the first time in nearly 20 years that biodegradable products have appeared in the ranking of Vietnam Value – the only program of the Vietnamese Government to promote the image and national brand through supporting businesses to evolve their product brands, goods and services. This also marks the great success of An Phat Holdings in developing environmentally friendly product line.

On the evening of November 2, 2022 the announcement ceremony of the 8th Vietnam National Brand Program with the theme “Creating the Future” was taken place in Hanoi. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered a speech at the ceremony.

Vietnam Value 2022 marks the first time An Phat Holdings participated in the selection and won the Vietnam’s National Brand. According to the results announced by the Organizing Committee, AnEco compostable bags are recognized as national brand products including food wrap, shopping bags and trash bags.

AnEco has researched and developed since 2013 with the aim of changing consumers’ habits of using traditional plastic products, offering practical solutions to replace single-use plastic ones. As the white pollution crisis has become a global problem, AnEco products contribute to reducing plastic waste.

AnEco is methodically oriented with an obvious strategy focus, in line with the core criteria of Vietnam value program which is “Quality – Innovation, Creativity – Pioneering Competence”.

Accordingly, AnEco products are manufactured based on a strict production process, from 100% compostable materials such as PBAT, PLA, PBS, etc., which are renewable and sustainable. Unlike conventional plastics, AnEco products are capable of completely decomposing into water, CO2 and humus, leaving no microplastics or environmental pollutants.

Especially, AnEco products achieved many prestigious international certificates of biodegradability such as: TCVN 13114, TUV OK Compost HOME, TUV OK Compost INDUSTRIAL, BPI Compostable and DIN Certco Compostable which ensure safety for consumers’ health and make no harm to environment.

Currently, AnEco’s compostable bags are being traded through e-commerce platforms such as: Shopee, Lazada, and are present at many restaurants, hotels and accompanied by prestigious brands of F&B business such as Vinamilk, Pizza 4P’s, etc.

AnEco products are also available in more than 20 countries over the world, “conquering” even the most “fastidious” markets such as the United States, Canada, Japan and many European countries. In particular, An Phat Holdings is currently focusing on promoting the trade of AnEco products in the US market through the Amazon e-commerce platform. AnEco’s sales on Amazon have grown tremendously, sales in the first 7 months of 2022 are 5 times higher than sales in the first year of 2021, expected to be 15-20 times more than 2021 by the end of 2022. Moreover, AnEco was also successfully protected the trademark in the United States, thereby paving the way and creating great opportunities for An Phat Holdings to implement business cooperation projects throughout North America.

The fact that AnEco becomes the first compostable product brand to appear in the ranking of Vietnam’s national brands is the clearest demonstration of the recognition and trust of the domestic market for the eco-friendly products, which are still new and needs a trailblazer like An Phat Holdings to pave the way.

Happy 20^th anniversary, An Phat Holdings!

On July 22, 2022, An Phat Holdings successfully held the Half-year Review Ceremony for the first 6 months of 2022. The ceremony reviewed the outstanding milestones in production and business activities of the Group in the first half of 2022 and called on all employees to stay consistent with planned goals, proactively deal with difficulties and respond to challenges in the upcoming period.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Board of Directors of APH and member companies and employees of the Group.

2022 marks the 20th anniversary of An Phat Holdings and also the beginning of key projects. To achieve that goal, the Group has accelerated production, business activities and achieved positive results.

In the first 6 months of 2022, An Phat Holdings has achieved remarkable results in terms of revenue and profit. Some fields such as industrial real estate, packaging, engineering plastics and building material plastics have made great strides. The prestige and brand of the Group have been gradually enhanced both domestically and internationally.

Especially, in February 2022, An Phat Holdings organized Ground Breaking Ceremony for the largest green material factory (PBAT Compostable Resin Plant) in Southeast Asia. The event marked a strong transformation of the Group in the revolution of greening production. This is the motivation for all employees of the Group to make more efforts and determination on the journey of green transformation, creating sustainable values.

At the end of March 2022, the export market of An Phat Holdings’ compostable materials received a positive signal when this product line was distributed throughout North America. In other fields such as supporting industry, thin monolayer film, plastic material and trade, industrial real estate, etc also achieved remarkable results.

At the end of the ceremony, the Group’s leaders expressed their confidence in all employees, and at the same time called for the spirit of solidarity, enhanced coordination and unity in actions to create total strength, successfully completing the 2022 plan and the sustainable development strategy in the coming period.

On May 25^th, An Tien Industries (Ticker Symbol: HII) successfully held the Annual General Shareholders’ Meeting 2022. Accordingly, the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders approved target revenue of VND 9,000 billion and dividend rate of 10% face value, among other critical issues.

Regarding business performance in 2021, the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic affected business operation of many enterprises, including An Tien Industries. In the context of the pandemic, the Board of Directors (BOD) adjusted business policies to adapt to the current situation.

As a result, An Tien Industries’ revenue reached VND 8,265 billion, increasing by 102,42% compared to 2020, completing 118,07% of the plan, of which, the commercial segment contributed VND 7,024 billion (up 110% over the same period), the production segment contributed 681 billion VND (up 12% over the same period).

Due to the impact of long-lasting outbreak on manufacturing, the production output of CACO3 and filler decreased by 13% over the same period, reaching 90 thousand tons. However, revenue increased thanks to a sharp growth in world plastic material prices in 2021. The profit margin was improved considerably from 3.7% in 2020 to 4.3% for the commercial segment and from 22.8% to 28% in 2021 for the export segment.

In 2021, HII managed to save manufacturing costs. Specifically, the commercial segment applied a new policy of importing goods when there were orders, reducing inventory, along with boosting exports, leading to a sharp increase in profit margin. Consolidated profit after tax earned VND 104 billion, an increase of 96.23% compared to 2020, completing 115.56% of the set plan.

In terms of production and business plans in 2022, An Tien Industries will mainly focus on improving the quality of current products. The firm will promote the development of bioplastic compounds (AnCal Bio). This is the premium raw material used for biodegradable products, with growing demand and good profit margins. To enhance competitiveness, An Tien Industries will focus on researching white colour masterbatch and developing AnCal used for optical-fiber cables.

An Tien Industries will focus on improving the quality and formulation of high-end Ancal raw materials to increase profit margins; expand the market for high-end products and develop export markets that generate high-profit margins.

Besides, HII also aims to ‘Go Green’ through the proposal to increase environmentally friendly products such as AnCal Bio and AnCal PP while optimizing the entire production system: cost of electricity, water, management of 5S system, waste treatment process… In terms of scale, in 2022, HII sets a consumption target of 130,000 tons of CaCO3 powder per month. To optimize the production efficiency of plastic additives and stone powder, An Tien Industries will consider purchasing two more Ancal machines if the output is maximized and the profit margin is maintained.

Moreover, HII sets a goal of improving production and business efficiency by taking two main measures: cost-saving and financial solutions. In particular, HII will optimize manufacturing plant personnel, and continue to search for materials with competitive prices, suitable for each product segmentation. Financial solutions mainly focus on effective cash management, debt control, raw materials inventory and finished goods inventory control.

Specifically, An Tien Industries will actively extend collaboration with domestic and international financial partners this year. HII continues to promote extensive cooperation with large enterprises in the industry that own mines and modern factory systems; enhance the quality assurance of input materials; improve the risk management system; ensure financial safety; well implement internal control through compliance monitoring activities for departments and factories to guarantee effective operations.

In addition, BOD approved the amendment and supplement of the company’s charter, internal regulations on corporate governance, and additional business lines. The meeting also ratified the dismissal request as BOD member of Mrs. Dang Thi Quynh Phuong and appointed Mr. Ngo Van Thu as a new member of BOD.

On 14^th February 2022, the Organizing Board of the Vietnam Gold Star Award announced that An Phat Holdings had won this prestigious award granted by the Vietnam Youth Federation Central Committee and  Viet Nam Young Entrepreneurs’ Association.

The Vietnam Gold Star Award 2021 attracted the participation of hundreds of businesses in many different industries. An Phat Holdings excellently fulfilled strict criteria in terms of revenue, profit, product competitiveness, social contribution activities, etc. to enter the Top 100 typical enterprises of the award.

This is the fifth time An Phat Holdings and its subsidiaries is honored with this award. Along with other major awards such as the National Quality Award, the Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA), the ASEAN Business Award (ABA), etc. the Vietnam Gold Star Award is conclusive proof of our efforts to become a leading eco-friendly and high-tech plastic enterprise in Southeast Asia. For the fourth time in a row, An Tien Industries Joint Stock Company – a subsidiary of An Phat Holdings is in the FAST500 Ranking – Top 500 fastest growing enterprises in Vietnam, according to the report of Vietnam Report Joint Stock Company (Vietnam Report).

The FAST500 are ranked based on the research results and evaluation of the Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) in terms of revenue and business performance. In addition, some other criteria such as total assets, total employees, profit after tax and social medial reputation are also used as a supporting factor to determine the size and position of the enterprise in the industry.

According to this year’s ranking, An Tien Industries JSC (Stock Ticker: HII) continues to maintain its top position of the fastest growing enterprises in Vietnam.

As an enterprise specializing in manufacturing ANCAL plastic additives and stone powder, after more than a decade of growth and development, An Tien Industries is currently the second largest plastic additives producer in Vietnam, with 2 modern manufacturing plants in Yen Bai Province.
